8 Months

• Lucy loves to sit up and play with her toys
• She loves to read "This is not my puppy"
• She loves to be in her jumpy
• She and Andrew play "dinosaur". She makes a mean velociraptor sound!
• She LOVES Andrew and will watch him whenever he is in the room with her
• She has learned to shake her head "No"--she sort of looks like a bobble head when she does this
• She is eating us out of house and home--she usually will eat 2 jars of baby food each for lunch and breakfast and then THREE jars for dinner. PLUS she usually drinks 2 to 4 ounces of formula for each meal.
• She LOVES all food! There has been nothing she refuses to eat!
• I started giving her just water at night--she has decided it is not worth it to wake up in the middle of the night just for water (which means she is sleeping 12 to 13 hours a night straight through!)
• She will wake up and make some whimpering sounds for 1/2 hour or so, but usually will go back to sleep.
• She sleeps with a big bunny, her dollie, a little blankie and her burp cloth.
• She self-soothes by sucking on her blankie or burp cloth
• She will usually fall right to sleep at night--we do have to turn on her turtle night light, brush teeth (which she LOVES to do), turn on her mobile and of course put bunny on her left and dollie on her right with the blankie and burp cloth on her right also.
• She turns over pretty quickly now--she still does not like to be on her tummy
• She takes two naps a day--usually 8:30 am to 11:30 am and then in the afternoon from 2 pm to 4 pm.
• She has 3 teeth--two in the middle bottom and her right vampire tooth
• She still has her very long wise hair that is growing behind her left ear--she has had it since birth and is now extremely long (about 4 inches)
• She loves to stand up with help
• She loves all little kids and is always very enamored of them
• She loves to play with toys
• She LOVES Andrew's bear and tries to get it every chance she gets
• She poops 3 to 4 times a day
• She loves to take a bath and enjoys playing with the water coming out of the faucet and the little plastic bowl I use to rinse off her hair and body
• She says "dada", "mama", "baba" and a bunch of babbling
• She is not crawling yet and doesn't seem too interested in trying
• Overall she is a very pleasant baby, unless she gets too hungry, then she is a force to be reckoned with!
• She really enjoys being in the Baby Bjorn, but is getting too big for me to carry her in it
• She likes to grab EVERYTHING! We were in Target yesterday and she was in the Baby Bjorn and I was looking at glasses and there was a lady sitting down near where I was standing. As I was looking, I hear a little yelp and I look around and see Lucy has a huge hand full of the lady's hair!
• Everywhere we go, Lucy garners a lot of attention because she is usually smiling and engaging
